Citywide Kwanzaa Celebration

Join us as we celebrate Kwanzaa, an African American and of year community celebration honoring family, community and culture, instituted by Maulana Karenga, presenting the seven principles of Nguzo Saba: Umoja (unity), Kujichagulia(self-determination), Ujima (collective work and responsibility), Ujamaa (collective economics), Nia (purpose), Kuumba (creativity), Imani (faith).

This year's seven-day festival highlights an innovative and traditional blend of performances and installations of excellence presented by artists residing in Pittsburgh and its surrounding cities.  The Citywide Kwanzaa includes theatre, music, spoken word, dance, hip-hop, visual arts, family and educational activities and more; and features WACONGO Dance Company Soukous Stars, The Legends & more.
